Walsingham Care is pleased to be able to offer an individual grant programme which is aimed at helping older residents who are facing challenging financial circumstances and who live within our defined geographical area of support – currently the Borough of Elmbridge.

Our grant criteria:

All applications must be submitted by a third-party referral agent  – we cannot accept referrals from individuals, their family or friends.

Examples of third-party agents include local authorities, adult social care departments, housing associations, charities and community groups, health practitioners, citizens advice bureaux, ministers of religion, or other support agencies.

The Charity’s beneficiaries should have limited means and we have devised a fair system of calculating who is eligible for our assistance. When making a decision on a grant application, we take into account income, any capital assets and any family support available.

Our criteria are reviewed from time to time to ensure that they meet the needs of applicants and the resources of the Charity.

As a charity our funds are limited and unfortunately we are not always able to meet demand.

What can we help with:

Financial support for:

Items such as white goods, flooring and furniture

Mobility aids, care alarms and other such equipment

The cost of attending specialist groups, such as dementia support groups

Disability equipment including specialist seating

Short term respite care costs in a residential care home or at home

Specialist home cleaning

Cost of Living hardship support

Unpaid carers needing a short break

Home adaptations and repairs

Regular top-up grants towards any shortfall in care fees for people in residential or nursing home care

Counselling and bereavement support

What we can’t help with:

Costs that have already been paid for

Debt repayment

Funeral costs

Housing Association property upgrades
