Testimonials

           What people say about us...

I work as an occupational therapist with the elderly and disabled local community. Walsingham charity has been a massive help over the years in supporting some of our most vulnerable clients. They are responsive, caring and enable us to access support and funding for those that need it the most. I am truly grateful for Debbie in particular, who goes out of her way to help in particularly difficult situations and has assisted in providing funds for equipment or emergencies when needed. I really don’t know where we would be without Debbie and Walsingham Charity, Thank you so much for everything you do for us!

Whenever I have approached Debbie and Walsingham charity, I have been so thoroughly humbled with her professionalism and speed of undertaking referrals and requests for funding –also with signposting and support with guidance and information. The trustees of Walsingham Charity have been so very generous and helpful to so many people in need, I know they are very grateful  for the funding and support you have offered. I am so very grateful too it helps me do my job and in this time of budget cuts,t is so refreshing that we can work together to support people in Elmbridge who are in need of support. Some of these people literally have no one else to talk to or to support them so it is a pleasure to work with Walsingham Charity and Debbie Beach is a truly exemplary member of your team.

Thank you to all at Walsingham Care for all the help and support you have provided to the beneficiaries of Whiteley Village via your grants. From funding community pendant alarms, to new flooring, to essential white goods, the grants you have awarded have been instrumental in giving new villagers a great start in their new home, and existing villagers the means and support to continue to live independently in their homes. The relationship between The Whiteley Homes Trust and Walsingham Care has been such a positive one and helping vulnerable older persons has been at its core from the beginning.

As the manager of a dementia day care service, I support individuals and families who often fall through the cracks. Many are not eligible for social care funding yet lack the financial means to access the support they need. Without help, they face growing isolation, declining health, and limited options.

Thanks to Walsingham Care, we’ve been able to offer fully funded day care places to these individuals—providing five hours of support each week through a range of structured activities that promote social, physical, and mental wellbeing. These sessions help individuals maintain routine, stay connected to their community, and continue living independently in their own homes for as long as possible. They feel valued, respected, and supported.

For those living with a spouse or family carer, the impact is just as significant. That weekly respite provides carers with essential time to rest, manage daily responsibilities, and sustain their ability to care. It prevents burnout and helps keep families together. Crucially, without this funding, these individuals would not have the option of attending our service. Many would likely enter full-time residential care far earlier than necessary—placing increased pressure on social care systems and care home providers already struggling to meet demand. Walsingham Care’s support helps delay or even avoid this outcome by enabling community-based, preventative care that is both compassionate and cost-effective.

We are incredibly grateful for their continued support. Walsingham Care is not only changing lives—they are relieving pressure on public systems and sustaining dignity, independence, and quality of life for those affected by dementia.
